Galsworthy / Over The River £45 or $71 or 56 Euros Postfree-By-Airmail Worldwide
Published by William Heinemann Ltd, London, 1933.
Dark green cloth hardback in about "Fair Plus"
to "Good"
condition with a some little rubbing/knocks to
corners.
Overall a decent reading exemplar, but with
interesting associations.
Formerly the property of the sculptress Barbara
(Crystal) Collingwood, with her ownership ink
inscription in her married name, "Barbara
Gnosspelius,"
This item came from the library of the church
architect Janet Gnosspelius, daughter of the
geologist Oscar Gnosspelius and Barbara
Collingwood.
Most members of the interrelated Collingwood and
Gnosspelius families played inspirational parts
in Arthur Ransome's writings.
Arthur Ransome had once proposed to Barbara,
without success, but he still dedicated Old
Peter's Russian Tales (1916) to her.

We have had lots of buying customers from Manchester and the midlandsn in the shop today. Cookery, history, literary criticism and Second World War have all gone well. Quite a bit of science has gone from the website too. The bargain ginnel has just been topped up with a number of history books. Tomorrow morning should see some activity there. ...
