London, 1917; [i] + 497 pages of text followed by a further 8 pages of
the publisher's advertisements; 15 X 22cm;
"Good" black cloth hardback with gilt titling and Dewey number on
spine; latterly the property
of the City Of Liverpool Public Libraries, with their discrete
"withdrawn" stamp and ornate armorial bookplates on front & rear
pastedowns; some evidence still of librarian's use of
transparent tape; some light cockling of cloth and little bumping at
corners; else, a decent reference exemplar with none of the defects
associated with lending copies. Scarce early volume.
